All star tribute concerts are hitting the road in 2012 “Experience Hendrix” will tour 20 markets starting March 6th in Maryland.
The lineup is unique to say the least- Robert Randolph, Kenny Wayne Sheppard, David Hidalgo and Caesar Rosas of Los Lobos? Keb’ Mo, Eric Johnson,Living Colour, Chris Layton and… Dweezil Zappa?
An interesting group of performers to take on an enormous task of lending tribute to a rock and roll God.
To quote Zappa
“I’ve always been a great admirer of Jimi Hendrix,” said Zappa, who is making his Experience Hendrix tour debut. “My dad told me some great stories about playing with him. Jimi’s ability to express himself so completely with an electric guitar is very inspiring to me. I’m honored to be invited to participate in this tour and I’m really looking forward to playing with everyone!”
The 2012 tour includes stops in Greensboro, N.C. (March 7); Knoxville, Tenn. (March 8);Nashville (March 9); Atlanta (March 10); North Charleston, S.C. (March 11);Hollywood, Fla. (March 14); Clearwater, Fla. (March 15); Orange Beach, Ala.(March 17); Houston (March 22); and Thackerville, Okla. (March 23). More shows will be added
