Like me, you probably think that James Brown died from heart failure on December 25, 2006, resulting from complications of pneumonia. At least, this is what was reported back then.
But according to Spinner which got it from the Globe, Brown's publicist Jacque Hollander does not believe it is the case: she has hired a private detective to investigate the circumstances of his death, as she claims that foul play may have been involved and that she has received death threats since she has publicly announced she had hired a private eye.
Hollander told the Globe: ‘James Brown did not die of a heart attack’, and also said that Darren Lumar, Brown’s son-in-law, was killed because he knew too much; he effectively declared during a Georgia TV show ‘There's not a bone in my body that believes my father-in-law died from congestive heart failure’ before being murdered in 2008.
Is this for real? All this sounds like a movie, but there is even more! Brown’s daughter LaRhonda Pettit declared last year that Brown’s body had been taken from its crypt to prevent an autopsy.
And Hollander is saying she is scared: ‘Now I am living in fear of my life because I’m the one who can bring forth the truth.’
Why the death of many artists have to be so complicated?
