It's a Tradition: Pitchfork Post Their Upcoming Album Releases Once A Season, We Steal Em And Insult The Website

Best Coast Are A Superb Band FYI

Once in a blue moon Pitchfork will post a  well written review, about as often as they pan a pouplar act, maybe a couple of times a year, a Spider Bags album review here, a Deep Dark interview there, but otherwise, it isn’t happening. Earlier this year the slammed the Pixies and two years ago M.I.A. -here and there, occassionally, to prove they’re serious… although they aren’t.

They certainly aren’t serious about writing. In Rolling Stone earlier this year, Jonah Weiner’s Daft Punk  interview was light years ahead of Ryan Dombalm the terrible Pitchfork editor. Pitchfork’s reviews are boring beyond tedium and their grading system is insane. I wonder if they sit around wonderging if a band deserves a 5.4 or a 5.6?

Still, after nearly five years, rock nyc (the little engine that can’t) is more than happy to cut and paste all their hard research and here it is:
