It Must Rule To Be Set Your Goals Right Now

Alan Day of Four Year Strong told us the title of their song "It Must Suck To Be Four Year Strong" was referenced to Alternative Press' review of Set Your Goals first release.   The guys of FYS are big Set Your Goals fans and whaddaya know- so am I.

The first time I saw these guys live it was all I could do not to jump right in the pit but luckily I kept my wits about me.  Fast intelligent hardcore with understandable lyrics and a drummer who is a bit of a superhuman to keep that momentum.

Word now is that the bands newest album will be out on June 28 and as much as I love new releases it also symbolizes an inevitable tour.  Unlike some bands I connver SYG doesnt get up here as much as they should.  When they do soar in its best to catch them no matter what it takes.  Theyre not much to look at and their stage presence is more business than showmanship.  In the case of Set Your Goals, Im fine with it.  I'll pass on the smoke and mirrors for the authenticity of talent.

The album  Burning At Both Ends on  Epitaph Records (dont hate them for that,  Im sure Eptiaph does nothing more than write checks for them), contains 13 tracks of fun.

1. Cure For Apathy- 2:22
2. Start The Reactor- 2:42
3. Certain- 3:02
4. Happy New Year- 3:16
5. London Heathrow- 2:59
6. Trenches- 3:03
7. The Last American Virgin- 3:07
8. Exit Summer- 2:25
9. Unconditional- 3:26
10. Product Of The 80′s- 2:42
