There is an insistent rumor right now about the new Radiohead album, largely spread by fans: The King of Limbs would only be the first part of a longer album, and a second part may come soon.
When Radiohead announced that there will be a magazine album with 2 vinyl records, and when fans discovered later on that the King of Limbs had only 8 tracks, message boards went wild with speculations. 2 vinyl records for 8 songs?? On the other hand, many fans have speculated that 4 years for 8 tracks were way too much time to do so little.
Then, there is this last song, which was originally entitled ‘Mouse Bird Dog’ according to many fans, and was re baptized ‘Separator’,…. Like a separation between two albums? Moreover the song contains the insistent lyrics ‘If you think this is over then you’re wrong’
Also any order number for the album was TKOL1-followed by 9 numbers, but why TKOL1? Could there be a TKOL2?
Also there is the mysterious Japanese connection: the Japanese order page mentioned ‘8 tracks from the new album’, a line which was later taken down, but the ‘from’ has captivated fans’ attention all over the world.
Lastly, on Twitter, there were also numerous mentions of unknown song titles, which do not figure on the album.
These guys have said many times they wanted to revolutionize the music industry, with new release strategy,…. What has been done so far was traditional, except they didn’t do it through a label.
These theories are not dying soon, and I’m sure there will be more about this King of Limbs, since we don’t know how many limbs there are out there.
