If there is one thing we here at rocknyc adore its decent comedy. Let me tell you brother, it’s a tough thing to come up with. We have found it though in the BBC series The Inbetweeners. We were lucky enough to catch it on BBC America but its long gone now. The guys have grown up and their ‘high school’ days are well behind them. We got the send off movie that I drove 2 hour to see (legit and totally worth it) and Iman grabbed a Q&A with James Blakely, lucky.
So the series began in 2008 with the guys in Rudge Park Comprehensive school and their last film took them to the Isle of Crete to celebrate their graduation. Now? What’s to celebrate? My response is who cares. The Inbetweeners movie was fantastic and with no drop in quality. I’ll take a second serving gladly, confident that the team of Iain Morris and Damon Beesle who created the series are still on board.
In their official statement they stated
“We couldn’t be more excited to be making another Inbetweeners movie.”
‘Thank the fans’
The original Inbetweeners film, released in August 2011, holds the record for the most successful British comedy of all time.
Starring Simon Bird, James Buckley, Blake Harrison and Joe Thomas, the Inbetweeners has got to be one of the best comedies on either side of the Atlantic. Nominated for numerous awards it continues to provide quality laughs. The sequel will be released in August of 2014, which usually means we here in the states could get a short run in September. Bring it!
