Iman and hel do SNL: Michael Buble

Well its Christmas in New York so I suppose its a send in the crooners event.  The 36 year old Canadian is a baby Connick Jr.  Lets face it, he is.  Aside from the New Orleans twang there isnt much differnt to thier schtick.

Please dont get me wrong, I actually really like the croony swoony stuff,  I love the thought of the romantacized days of yore when men were men and women made sandwiches- and I really love that someone stepped in to Harry shoes when he went Hollywood (or was it Broadway.. or both)

Buble has a gorgeous voice, choses songs that suit it perfectly and hooked in to the jazzy genre like he was born for 60 years late.

So on this holiday Saturday Night live its perfectly appropriate to have a swoon and croon act.  Of course, if SNL choses to be a snooze, there will be no swoon nor croon as I will crash out asleep.  I dont think I will this week though, Im interested to see it and a far as holiday shows go- SNL usually has a doozy.  Heck this is what gave us classics like "Dick In A Box".

With a Jimmy Fallon opening that has more energythan the entire season to date, we set ourselves up for a great show.  Fallon is a musical comedian so of course this will be the zinger of the year, but can Buble show any real personality?

Well not when singing "Holly Jolly Christmas", although I adore the strings. Buble is stiff and without swag. Is this the same guy who just helped me bust a gut laughing after a parody of his Christmas album?

Iman sums it up, nice tux, horrible face, hair and a not too obvious song….a 'goblin on steroids'

Its tough to ruin a fun classic and he doesnt but he aint no Burl Ives.  He just has a bit of hick to him- and thats ok.  Its Christmas we let that stuff slide.

Get back to the comedy.. Fallon is killin' it.
