Iman and Hel Do SNL: Katy Perry

Katy Perry is adorable. Was adorable? Can be adorable?  The teenage dream is far from teen and in fact is a divorced woman who is starting to age.  Her cutesy is stil there with that whole ‘doe eye’ bit but sometime she just looks like and old burlesque queen, and I do mean queen.

I haved loved her music for what it’s worth.  Fluffy ear candy with no real purpose but no real harm.  She is the poster child for teenage girls and gender non descript fella’s.  She is in line right after Gaga for the Queen of the Queen throne but right now she needs to stay alive.  Her love life isnt enough to keep her in the public eye and her tiff with PETA on the ‘Roar’ video didnt really help the cause.

Last week Iman asked ‘why do we torture ourselves like this?’, as we waited for Miley Cyrus to show up on SNL.  The show is awful with no glimmer of returning to any sort of interest and the new cast is either star struck or deep in Xanax cuz its like Walking Dead humour.  But, here I am again this week to watch this broad sing a tune so, as always, Im angsty that she makes it worth my time.

Hey though- where’s Iman this week?  Can’t tell.  So instead I snagged our resident teenager Mary Magpie to see if this is  a ‘Teenage Dream” or a ‘Old Nightmare’

Looks just like The Rainforest Cafe! But PETAis not happy at all.  The only thing I hate is her yelpy repetition.  ‘Roar’ is the perfect tune for boring little teenagers. But she’s adorable and who needs substance.

Mary says, “I absolutely love Katy.  She’s adorable and quirky, and totally real.  She’s pretty much the one female popstar who has remained sweet and cute yet also has a more adult appeal.  She has a realistic body type, intense talent, is insanely beautiful, and is pretty much perfect.  She’s a phenomenal role model and I think she’s a wonderful woman.  Go you, Katy.”
