Iman and hel do SNL: Drake

Drake used to be an actor on the teen drama DeGrassi High.  Aubrey Drake Graham is a Canadian R&B hip hop guy who makes the ladies swoon and the fellas take note.  A Lil Wayne prodigy Drake was signed to Young Money Records and has since graduated to Universal Republic.

Here is the thing that I have found that I love about Drake.  He looks like a clean cut preppy sorta crooner an old school safe middle of the road pop star.  But that voice is the exact opposite.  He sounds dangerous and 'hood.  Its like the bad boy who cleans up well enough to meet your parents but the minute he steps out of the house turns in to their worse nightmare or something.    I wasn't looking forward to SNL at all.  Last thing I want to see is a dumb ass Bruno Mars or Michael Bolton (oh wait that was last week) safe artist.  SNL needs to get rough already.  Enough with the hemp wearers enough with RADIOHEAD (still haven't gotten over that).  I hate to say it but Im a little psyched.

Meanwhile my partner is off from one side of New York City to the other in pursuit of live music.  If ever there was a performer that required Imans input (just based on simple knowledge of the artist) this is it… so he better hurry on home.. y'all…

With his flashy messaged filled set, Drake performed his newest song "Headlines", did he forget the lyrics at one point?  Does it even matter.  His voice is so distinct and the band accompanied so well that it didn't really matter.     His flow is nerdy but outta control, providing his own harmony on backing tapes.  He is the rapper as middle-class status symbol

I think the most curious thing was what is with those sweaters and that owl sweatshirt.  Seriously though if I have nothing more negative to say about the performance than that, then I believe Drake is the winner.  Hell, I think I have a new hero
