The Live Nations App? Sure I have it on my Iphone and why wouldn’t I? If you think rock nyc is big enough to get press listed to the Rufus Wainwright Town Hall, you’re wrong, we’re not, and if I wanna cover it I pony up the dough and if I wanna save myself paying double or more I better have a handle on pre-sales. And I do. And one way I do it is through the Live Nation apps whoch have presales all the time.
So I have a Live Nation app and a couple of weeks ago they offered a sweepstakes, enter now and win free tickets for a year. Did I mention that I pay for around 75% of my tickets? Free tickets for a year would be awful nice, so I stuck my name into a lottery and lo and behold I won. A value no more than $1500 (or as I prefer to call it: three tickets to the Rolling Stones) but still not bad, right?
But the more I looked at it the less thrilled I was. Only Live Nation barns, General Admission Lawn Tickets. So the nearest to me would be Jones Beach where I very very rarely go to, and I’m guessing the other one would be NJPAC , a hell hole in the middle of nowhere I went to opnce and never ever ever again.
So, OK I guess if I won it, maybe I can go to a coupla shows but really, I am not $1500 near these places. I was so unthrilled I forgot to mention it to anyone and more to the good because Live Nation diswon me!!! I received this message:
“Yesterday, we messed up. We sent a message in error, which mistakenly notified you and others that you had won a sweepstakes.
We sincerely apologize for this. As a goodwill gesture, we would like to offer you two free lawn tickets to an upcoming 2014 Live Nation concert of your choice in any Live Nation owned and operated amphitheater in the U.S. Within the next week we will email details on how to collect your two free lawn tickets.
It is important to note that this was a mistake, this was not spam or fraud, just an unfortunate error. Please be assured that none of your personal information has been disclosed.
You are important to us and our promise to you is that we will never stop working to improve our fan experience and we are sorry that we have had this bump in the road.”
The moral of this story is… well there isn’t one, really. Except, no it isn’t important and we don’t believe you give a damn about us. Of course, if I actually gave a damn I might be angrier about it.
