Devo dontated one of its signature red cone hats to Ohio Historical Society. OHS says it has received a small collection of artifacts from the band and its official archivist. The items include stickers, T-shirts, costumes and a flower pot-style hat worn in the band’s memorable 1980 video for “Whip It”.
The funny thing is they never say where theyre on display.. the town hall perhaps?
Three of the band’s founding members grew up in Akron and met at Kent State University in the 1970s.
So if you want to go see this stuff I guess you should call the Mayors office or something.
What gets me is this is actually newsworthy on some sites. Must be a slow music news week indeed, either that or everyone is coming down off the jelly bean sugar high of Easter or mourning Cobains croak.
