This is a tough one since I can honestly say I only saw 2 really bad shows this year. Then again I don’t see a thousand concerts per calendar as my collegues do.
1- Alesana Worcester Palladium. A show that had a bald Dennis Lee looking like an escaped convict, front hunk Shawn Milke lewdly gyrating and a room vibe of total love. The place lost about 30% of its crowd as the guys stepped on which was all the better for us. Fabulous.
2- X Bostons Club Paradise. Not only did I get to see the documentary “Unheard Music” I got to hover over my idol Exene Cervanka after having the honor of speaking to her. Gracefully aging and cooler than ever- they showed you can age and still be a punk. How I love this band
3- Breathe Carolina Paradise Rock Club, Boston MA. This was my lovely girl Layna Clouds first rocknyc gig. I was like a proud mom with her and the band owned that venue and lost a shoe
4- All Time Low, Wallingford CT. There is nothing more fun than hanging out with ATL. The guys are exactly what you want to spend a night with. I have never laughed harder at a non comedy show in my life. Instant love for this pop punk band.
5- Warped 2011. My most favorite to date. Feeling more organized and more loyalty to the show and the bands on the tour. Just perfection.
