I love Eddie Argos, hes the frontman of Art Brut. He has a great Twitter to follow. Hes a bit of a weirdo but ain't we all. He often tweets his 'This is My Jam' and today, he tweeted this Classic Clash tune- done by a chick band, Helen Love.
First off, its intro from Joey Ramone was haunting. I mean literally stopped me cold in my tracks. I suppose Joey was a fan as well. Two cool guys suggesting a tune. You'd think I'd love it.

No. A robotic vocal, over enunciated as only a woman can do. See theres got to be a slur in a tune like this. I don't want to hear every letter and there is an art to singing a punk song without sounding choppy and awful. Maybe shes hot- maybe that's why these guys dig her. Maybe its cuz she has a cool first name? She sounds like she's reading. Its terrible
BUT the music is fabulous. See I said something positive!
The XFM radio is repulsive- what the freak? How dare you advertise! How dare she slide in to Capitol Radio just to plug XFM? Am I missing something? I realize that Clash is sacred to me but if I didn't hate Helen Love from her speak/sing vocals, I can say I am totally turned away buy the shameless plug.
