1. Sweet Little Rock And Roller – Chuck Berry – Oh, she’s nine years old, that why Rod Stewart upped her to nineteen, though it does beg the question why did Berry make her a child instead of a teenager. The answer would probably be target demo but that makes no sense either! Maybe it is more like a significant portion of the audience but we don’t remember it that way – A+
2. Born to Lose – Johnny Thunders And The Heartbreakers – At the time, every sign of failure lead to drugs but in retrospect perhaps the born to lose was a condemnation of rock and roll itself – A
3. Analyzer – Aluna George – Two years old but still very fresh techno pop – B+
4. There She Goes Again – The Velvet Underground – Is this still ahead of its time? Ode to a hooker as doo wop British invasion rock – A+
5. Pyramids – Frank Ocean – My friend Tomas swears by this song as future r&bs reason for being, but the actually melody isn’t sweet enough for me – B
6. Americano – Roger Clyne And The Peacemakers – It’s like a great lost Tom Petty song – A
7. Rusholme Ruffians – The Smiths – One of the best songs are their best produced album, Marr provides an inspired riff stolen off “His Latest Flame” – A
8. (Marie’s The Name Of) His Latest flame – Elvis Presley – See what I mean? – A+
9. Call Me Crazy – Sevyn Streeter – Superb r&b track, really strong and nothing that new about it – B+
10. Carol – Chuck Berry – The greatest rock and roll lyric of all time – A+
