1. Bad Girl – Avril Lavigne – With Marilyn Manson and I realize I may lose my rock writer credentials for this, but I quite like this meeting of two sounds in one, it’s like ultra bubblegum Marilyn – B-
2. Perfume – Britney Spears – Ooooh, Brit plays the other woman who won’t rat your wife, though if she happens to smell some perfume on your shirt it is hardly Brit’s fault – B
3. Guess I’m Falling In Love – Phil Gammage – Gotta love that guitar sound – A
4. Dream, Baby, Dream – Bruce Springsteen – Bruce’s best cover since his Pete Seeger album – A
5. Beer With jesus – Thomas Rhett – This song is so terrible in so many way, I listen to it for laughs. The bit where he puts the drinks on his tab is one of the most uproariously inappropriate thing I’ve ever heard – F
6. So Far… Eminem – I read this somewhere (Consequence of Sound?) , that what the new album proves is the toxic rapper can afford expensive samples. But also, he is one of our great rappers – B+
7. Bad Day – Justin Bieber – This is the second good r&b single, only the first was a dog – B
8. Summer Wind – Frank Sinatra – Instant nostalgia! – A+
9. The White Rose Of Athens – Nana Mouskouri – One of the top World singers and a reminder of the early 1960s. So excited to have the opportunity to see her live next year – B+
10. We All go Back where we Belong – REM – A very late song but still one of their very best – A
