1. The Informer – David Bowie – The problem here is much the same as the problem on the entire album: the songs aren’t there. Oh the singing is powerful and felt, the instrumentation first rate, the atitude a poerfect mesh of here and now and then, but the song can’t sell it – B-
2. Unhappy Birthday – The Smiths – Ho hum birthday song, totally bereft of social values – C+
3. On The Run Darkside – Tom Stoppard And Pink Floyd – If there’s a juggler on the radio is there really a juggler? – A
4. Love Is Everything – Ariane Grande – Xmas song – D+
5. High Hopes – The Havilanas – Three reasons why the original works where Bruce’s doesn’t 1) The drums are central, 2) The singing is powerful and not overpowering, 3) it is much faster – B
6. Do You Want To Build A Snowman – Kristen Bell – I wasn’t that crazy about “The Little Mermaid” come to think of it – C-
7. Fitzpleasure – alt-j – Since I don’t like Radiohead or Foal or any other of those Universitie Challenge bands, I shouldn’t have expected to like alt-j, I thought they dire on stage, but I liked Dave Sitek’s and Jim James’ remixes. But I still don’t like the original – C-
8. Hold On – Colbie Caillat – Aaaah, yes, then there was love – B
9. Rip Your Heart Out – Hopsin And Tech N9ne – Ho hum tech mash up – C+
10. Livin’ On A Prayer – Perhaps if the verses weren’t so stupid even I would give it its props – B+
