1. Rayos Del Sol – Jose De Rico – A huge hit in 2012, this slice of dance features a hot glowing beat and a horn punctuating the proceedings. Hand claps and two singers making cheerful odes to the summer in Spanish bring it home. A little beat lite by French House standards, the rhythm is snappy enough a hook to take it over the top – Grade: B+
2. The Scientist – Coldplay – Piano ballad straining against a first rate melody and a melancholy lyric – Grade: A
3. Hovi Baby – Jay-Z – Off BP2 and therefore the definition of a deep album cut, Jay-Z nailed it New Year's Eve where it took its place as an early set rave up-all flow and swagga. Best rhyme: "Hovi's home, the global phone" – Grade: B
4. Roc Boys (And The Winner Is…) – Jay-Z – Happily on his Greatest Hits but Jay-Z never plays it, maybe because he equates himself with drugs and us as addicts – Grade: A+
4. The Gordian Knot – Hartford Chamber Orchestra – Baroque strings – Grade: B+
5. Ai Se Eu Te Pego – Live – Michel Telo – Big time singalong plus accordion from Spain – Grade: B+
6. Down The Road – C2C – Heavy duty French DJs play the blues. A huge hit – Grade: A
7. One Day/Reckoning Song (Wankelmut Remix) – Asif Avidan and the Mojos – A mammoth smash in Germany, I wasn't the only one who expected this to break Electronica Stateside – Grade: A-
8. JVG – Kran Turismo feat. Raappana – Hip hop and dance mix… from Finland! -Grade: B
9. Closer – Tegan And Sara – Sexy charmer – Grade: A
10. Kush & Corinthians – Kendrick Lamarr – Too much weed confuses an almost stunningly banal rap about God – Grade: C
