Happy Birthday Paul Hewson

Long before the ego, and the fly glasses and Spiderman, there was Paul. A kid from Dublin with a dream and a set of pipes to die for. 

He is now called a singer, a performer and a humanitarian, and in some circles, a total dirt bag. 

Bono, as the man is now referred to, has taken the humble beginnings and transformed himself into the ultimate Demi God, (if only to himself).  Yet hate as much as we do- tickets are still purchased and anticipation still mounts to see the band U2 perform.

I lost interest in this band right after Zooropa.  I moved on and so did they but if you stop to look back to the early MTV days, the spiky mullet wearing Bono was really very cool,.  "I Will Follow" still rates as one of the best songs of all time, in my opinion.

Born today May 10, in 1960 the mastermind behind U2 was born.  I'm sure he is celebrating royally.
