Make Music Pasadena, the free music festival that celebrates the summer solstice every year, has announced its lineup for June 16.
The festival is always a success with more than 100 local and indie bands! Last year, they had Best Coast, and this time, it is again a collection of excellent bands already confirmed knowing that more acts will be announced in the following weeks on their website.
Among the I-wouldn’t-mind-for-an-encore-bands, the buoyant, fresh from their Coachella performance, Grouplove which are headlining the fest, the girl-group 60s-inspired duo Cults, the pop-operatic Shadow Shadow Shades, the cinematic eclectic pop Milo Greene. But, and not least, there is also the pop electronic Canadian chanteuse Grimes, whom I absolutely need to see: she made such a sensation when she played at the Echo not too long ago, that I predict a riot in Pasadena.
There are also Dam Funk, Dengue Fever, Soko, Electric Guest, The Happy Hollows, So Many Wizards, Correatown, and many others I would be happy to check out.
Make Music Pasadena starts at 11 am and runs to 11 pm on Saturday June 16, and offers multiple stages in outdoor courtyards, parks and even churches… and, as I said, it’s free! A great way to start the summer.
