Green Day Share A New Song Off '¡Uno!’, But Don't Expect Any Surprise

Green Day have released a new single ‘Oh Love’ off ‘¡Uno!’, the first of the 3 albums they'll be releasing between September and January.

The song is first hiccupping Billie Joe Armstrong’s vocals, being propulsive before going all Green Day on the soaring chorus, and all poppy-arm-in-the-air-anthemic in the final… quite a predictable and stereotyped thing. Also the tune is a long one, which doesn’t help, it repeats itself a few times this way, and after listening to it a few times, it gets old quite fast. And at the top of this, the starting riff has some AC/DC’s ‘Back in Black’ envy, but can't even dream about reaching any comparable level…

According to NME, the band will release two documentaries at the same time than their trilogy, one made by Tim Lynch, a producer of the DVD ‘Green Day: Bullet In A Bible’ and Tim Wheeler, a co-producer and editor of ‘The White Stripes Under Great White Northern Lights’ and will focus on the making of the band's upcoming three albums, and another documentary made from 'vintage footage from the band's pre-'Dookie' days'.

To go back to ‘Oh Love’, isn’t a single supposed to be a teaser for the album? In this case the song doesn’t do its job, people will get bored before the band has even released the first album of the trilogy… But what am I saying? I am sure Green Day’s fans will love it.
