From Hanks Williams to Patsy Cline all the way to taylor Swift, the Ole Grand Oprey is the most important music hall in country music history.
Tuesday night at the Time Magazine gala party for the 100 most powerful people in the world, Taylor Swift asked for a prayer for flooded Nashville.
You might include the Oprey in that prayer although, thankfully, the museum hasn’t been damaged “Many instruments, costumes, audio tapes and other historic paraphernalia are feared lost or damaged at the site.” according to People.com
This comes after the destruction of Gamble And Huff’s Sound Of Philadelphia head quarters being destroyed by fire.
Makes you think how fragile these things are, doesn’t it?
Country as we know it doesn’t have such a long history, I mean, country country not hillbilly or bluegrass.
Let’s hope they can rebuild it.
