Grammy Nominations Live Concert

On Wednesday December 5 the world will stop and families will gather around their television.  They will huddle close and brace themselves.  Nah, not a space landing nor words of War but rather the ‘official’ Grammy nomination announcements.

In a society that gives people awards for waking up it’s a sad thing that the nomination announcement warrants an hour of your life- let alone with your ears being assaulted by Maroon 5.

CBS will play host to the hoopla at 10pm Eastern ,with LL Cool J as perpetual host.  Additional presenters are to be announced but hey, LL is fair enough.  Officially titled, “The Grammy Nominations Concert Live!! – Countdown To Music’s Biggest Night” beams out of Nashville TN’s Bridgestone arena and musical guests are everywhere.

The Who, Dierks Bentley, Hunter Hayes and The Band Perry, who is paying tribute to Johnny Cash. Previously announced performers include Luke Bryan, fun., Maroon 5 and Ne-Yo.

Lucky audience in attendance gets an hour long Maroon 5 concert immediately following the announcements..eww.

The 55th annual Grammy Awards takes place on February 10th.  Before there was such award over saturation I really was interested in the Grammys it was an opportunity to see performances by band I generally would not have seen.  Unfortunately (or fortunately) now I can see any band perform anytime I want by simply searching them on Youtube.

As for awards there are so many for so many different reasons that they have lost their thrill.  Well, for music fans that is.  I would think the artists who win are still pretty stoked.
