Graham Parker and The Rumour Are Back!

One of my guilty pleasure 'back in the day' was Graham Parker and The Rumour.   NO ONE I hung out liked them at all.  Still listen to them on occasion but whoa now, they're BACK!  Since 1981 there has been no Mercury Poisoning" or "Local Girls", but alas.  They're coming to the States.

Vocally I always considered Parker to be Elvis Costellos distant cousin.  Not so polished, lyrics not so powerful but an unmistakable sound nasal and perfect.  "Local Girls" was on heavy rotation for a long time.  Used exclusively at home for primping time. It took a good hour to look unkempt so this was a great dance and tease the hair tune.  Hearing it now it still conjures up great memories of singing in the hairbrush or drumming with two eye pencils "HEY!" was the sing back.  Great fun pop.  The other winner "Dont Ask Me Questions", check it out below.

But older and perhaps a bit tired they're heading over the pond.. Catch them cuz I'm pretty sure you've never seen them before.
