DJ Grace of Spades and 100dbs, both NYC DJs, spun over at Niagara, ( huge Joe Strummer mural on side of bar), located on corner of 7th st and Ave A this past Sunday. This was a night of big tunes and strictly vinyl.
OneHundred Decibels kept it nice and chill putting on a variety of reggae jams from old school Bob to newer reggae/dance hall songs. He and Grace took turns, as she moved the reggae vibe back to the 50s with some good ol’ Motown soul, we were all feeling the mood for the evening, a perfect sunday night, re coop from the weekend, get ready for week, hanging out with friends time.
Conveniently located next to Tompkins Park for a quick getaway and 11:35 “Reggae boost” as my compadre, Brahm, would call it, we went to take in some fresh air between sets.
Most sundays either DJ is pumping big tunes somewhere around town, I’ll be sure to keep you updated on it.
Saturday, September 11, The Slackers(an NY ska band), along with DJ 100DBS will be jamming on a boat, they on a boat! With a night of ska + reggae + soul + rock n roll, you can board The TEMPTRESS which departs at 7:00pm from 41st ST at West Side HWY.
