Gotye About To Release An Album Of 10 Remixes Of 'Someone That I Used To Know'

I still don’t understand the Gotye craze, his music is so-so, he probably stole his melodies and ideas to some mid-80s bands, Sting or Peter Gabriel (some even think he got it from a children’s nursery rhyme,) and stole two titles to Elliott Smith (‘Somebody that I used to know’, and ‘Easy Way Out’) … but now there is this! The Belgian-Australian artist is going to release a full album of remixes of his hit  ‘Somebody that I used to know’, 10 remixes in total,… how many do you need? This song has already had the longest-running No.1 this year, what else does he want? There is a point when you don’t even call this milking the cow, it is beyond the metaphor and is there still some milk left anyway?

The remix album will be released on iTunes June 8 and will include reworks of the song by Gang Colours, Biblio, M-Phazes, Faux Pas, 4Frnt, Tiesto, Sneaker Fox, Dan Aux, Miami Nights and Adrock.

And you know the worst of it? Gotye declared earlier this year to NME that he was kind of fed up by the song:

I like the fact that people are still discovering it and I don't feel like it's a noose around my neck. But at the same time, I do wonder how many times you can listen to the same piece of music. I can't think of any song that's ever been picked up like this and I do feel like saying to people sometimes, 'Come on guys, there are other songs out there'.

Oh really? Because I wouldn’t be able to tell with the news of this over-indulging, overbearing release.
