
After a spate of deaths in March and April, the Grim Reaper has been passing on musicians for the past couple of weeks. Not that it helps Dr. Joyce Brothers any and which Helen went through cartwheels to include even scaring up an interview Dr. Brothers conducted with Kiss. But no. Taylor Meade on the other hand…
Taylor Mead – Actor, writer, performer it says here. And part of the music community because a) he lived on Ludlow Street, b) he was a part of Warhol’s Factory and c) because I say so. Painter, actor, gay activist just by the way he lived, Mead was 88 years old.
Romanthony – House producer for House label Black Male Records in the early 1990s, he will be forever remembered as the voice on Daft Ounk’s “One More Time in 2000. Big in Europe. less so here. He collaborated with the likes of Boyz Noize.
Barry Fey – In 1983 the concert promoter co-produced the U2 “Under A Blood Red Sky” as part of his Red Rocks Amphitheater concert series in Colorado. In 1991 he merged his promotion company with Universal Concerts and sold out in 1997. He committed suicide.
Peter Rauhofer – Austrian DJ remixed Cher, Madonna and Britney Spears and the house producer for Tribal House Record Label Star 69. He was 48 years old.
Steve Marland – Avant garde music composer whose work was “harsh, energetic, almost impenetrable”. 1983’s “Babi Yar” is his best known work.
