This is how the new Girls’ album is advertised in my neighborhood, I saw this big sign ‘We’re all gonna die’ in the streets and it took me a few seconds to realize it was for Girls’ ‘Father, Son, Holy Ghost’,… It made me smile when I saw it, it was a bright sunny day, people around were shopping and buying stuff, oblivious of this large white sign pending over their heads
These are actually the lyrics of the third song ‘Die’, going with assaulting and squealing guitars,… I just thought it was a bold move to advertise the album with such a line, nobody wants to be reminded of this during a happy Saturday morning. Next time, try this in the middle of a family reunion or a meeting, it may kill the conversation.
I think I smiled because of the absurdity of the situation, we all live as if we were all immortal,… as Charles Bukowski would say, ‘We're all going to die, all of us, what a circus!’
