But if I was to get it wrong it is the fine piece of over produced double yummy bubblegum “If We Ever Meet Again” ‘ featuring Katy Perry and starring Timbaland, I’d get it wrong with.
The problem with Katy is that though you know there is something special about her, it is hard too figure out quite what it is. She is like Lily Allen without all the Lily Alleness plus she is dating Russel Brand so you gotta figure.
And as for Timbaland -I know the point of pop music is to be popular but he has never found a track he doesn’t want to fill with sound and so despite the spriteness of the song it sounds a bit sludgy.
But in the end it is a great piece of pop sludge -the song reminds me of my Auntie Olga, once it gets hold of your ear it won’t let go. Plus, the ending is just plain weird, the drum beat segues into double time with a synth sample and a totally different tune.
This song has everything and if it isn’t great it is still a fine pop song to take out 2009 with.
