Is it just me or is every new musician starting to sound exactly like another? If you go on Myspace, you’ll easily find over 20 people who wish they were Nevershoutnever! or Nickasaur. Or, even worse, another metal band that you can’t tell from another. Are people running out of ideas or is it laziness?
I first realized this when I was going around and checking out the comments on a few band’s Myspace statuses with wannabe musicians saying “Check out my music!” so I did, expecting to be impressed or disgusted. I was neither. I was unenthused. It’s disappointing to see such a so-called “creative” generation stealing ideas that have been done a million times before.
All I want is a little diversity, something new. Something original. Someone? Anyone?
