As Iman wrote awhile back, HURRAH! The amazing Shirley Manson seems back in the groove preparing a shiny spanking new lp with her band Garbage.
Shirley told Rolling Stone “We got dumped on a label who did not give one flying fuck about us,” front woman Shirley Manson told the magazine. “And it just became a very joyless process. Something that should be really incredible, exciting and adventurous became like a noose around our neck. And we sort of turned in on each other as a result, I think.”
Garbage hasn't done squat since 2005 and that is far too long. I'm excited for numerous reasons, Shirley is a girl crush of mine and I know for certain there is a whole new group of fans thanks to the bands exposure in the video game Rock Band.
Shirley is one of the few of my most influential women in rock. Its pretty tough to hold a candle to her- she is has a beautiful voice paired with a strong yet feminine dynamic that is pretty rare.
Best quote of the deal is actually from drummer Butch Vig when he said the band were officially done “with people who suck,”
