Following the death of Aretha Franklin's Goddaughter, Whitney Houston, Saturday afternoon in Los Angeles, I wonder if the Queen of Soul will cancel her Friday and Saturday night performance at Radio City Music Hall.
I am guessing Aretha will be too deeply in mourning, but I wonder whether she will consider an opportunity to pay tribute to Whitney Houston in the one currency they both excelled at.http://rocknycnew0115.wpengine.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/Aretha-Franklin-and-Whitney-Houston.jpg
I've just been reading my WHitney Houston posts over the past three years, it is really sad, like everybody else I was overjoyed to see her return and then, as word from Australia filtered down, I went from telling the Aussies to go stuff themselves to recommending she take a break and return to singing after some rest.
We still don't know what happened to her, but a very dangerous time for drug addicts, as Amy Winehouse discovered, is the relapse.
To return to Aretha, I doubt she could pull herself together in time for RDCMH, which makes the second she has canceled the Hall in a row, and a week that has found it dark for an entire week following Barry Manilow's re-scheduling.
Incidentally, tickets are still on sale.
