Fiona Apple's 23 word Album Title

Remember that insanely long title for Fiona Apple’s 1999 album? The entire title of ‘When the Pawn’ was in fact this little poem:

‘When the pawn hits the conflicts he thinks like a king
What he knows throws the blows when he goes to the fight
And he'll win the whole thing 'fore he enters the ring
There's no body to batter when your mind is your might
So when you go solo, you hold your own hand
And remember that depth is the greatest of heights
And if you know where you stand, then you know where to land
And if you fall it won't matter, cause you'll know that you're right’

Well, she did it again, her new album will have a 23 words-long title:

‘The Idler Wheel is wiser than the Driver of the Screw, and Whipping Cords will serve you more than Ropes will ever do.’

I will not even try to go into some kind of interpretation, but I suppose this one will just end up been called ‘The Idler Wheel’.

The album, which will be her 4th studio album is supposed to be released in June, and Fiona is also back at playing shows. I can’t even imagine the pressure she is on, as she has been absent from the spotlights for 7 years…

It is funny how blogs and magazines have posted quite old pictures of her, probably because that’s all they had. I stumbled on this curious and recent interview, and she looks so luminous and fragile, and a little bit different at the same time… ‘It is somewhere in between conversation and sex’, she says to describe her feeling playing with other people, just listen to her:
