Its been announced that this years Farm Aid will take place in Pennsylvania. The event exact location will not be announced until Monday.
Willie Nelson, Neil Young, John Mellencamp, and Dave Mathews (when the hell did he hop on?) are are on the board to this annual event. America's farmers are more corrupted than 1920's police. They are strong armed by the government and subsidized up the wazoo. They are literally shaken down for their use of certain seeds and told how to house and process their land.
There is no red barn farming in this country- it is an illusion that houses filthy secrets and every e-coli outbreak is a billboard to mismanaged corruption.
Farm Aid, although misdirected, at least makes and attempt to educate and entertain. The Farm Aid website even offers up some thought provoking information on genetically engineered food- please at least read that. Support your local farmers and better yet grow as much of your own food as you can. This doesn't even begin to touch upon factory farming of animals. If you knew what went down in those things chances are you'd pause between bites.
The concert draws thousands to hear pure American music and raises funds for farmers. Lets not get too deep on what exactly the money goes toward, instead lets just consider this a music festival with a cause in mind and leave it at that.
