Encore Series Presenting the Gershwins Girl Crazy

The Manhattan City Center’s Encore series is a live reading of a musical done in front of an audience for four performances only. I saw Patti Lupone kill in Pal Joey hear and later on an excellent Chicago with Ann Reinking and Bebe Neurith which would eventually move to Broadway where in resides today.


From Nover 19th – November 22nd they are presenting the George and Ira Gershwin musical comedy Girl Crazy, book by Guy Bolton and Jack McGowan. The songs in this musical are unreal: “I Got Rhythm,” “Embraceable You”, “But Not For Me” and “Boy! What Love Has Done To Me” among others.
