These guys are restless, despite their constant touring around the United States and across the Mexican border, our favorite political-activist-rockers Outernational have nevertheless found the time to release their third video.
Filmed in the hot Californian desert, the mini-movie is a blurry-busy fast-moving experience, hitting the road as fast as the chords on the electric guitar, letting us watch a confused and angry preacher in a cemetery, while Miles Solay’s voice is assaulting the delusion of the American dream with the help of some aggressive trumpet. ‘Empty Lives’, one of the songs off their last EP ‘Future Rock’, is certainly not tender with the lies of the American culture, the false hopes of religion or even the illusionary gangster culture: ‘Empty lives in the United States/Like a religion I'm shaking the faith/I tell these kids with Scarface on their lips/On that little ass corner you ain't regulating shit/This parasitic, pornographic culture/False hopes, American vultures’.
Once again, Outernational is on a mission ‘with horizon eyes’ and a fierce bass line – the one from Metallica’s ‘Seek & Destroy’ played backwards. The fast pace of the video won’t disappoint you if you have already listened to the fast-tempo song, and the band is definitively a non-stop hard-rocking machine in search of new ways to shake people’s consciousness.
