Basically that's what Costello is saying in regards to his nearly $300.00 box set offering, calling the cost either a misprint or satire.
This 1500-copy limited edition collectors set (which comprises of one CD, one DVD, and one 10" vinyl EP, in addition to a hardcover book and a Costello-autographed commemoration card) comes with a hefty price tag. But then again, its the honor of saying own it I suppose. I for one would love to own it so please don't let the man discourage you if you wanted to get this for me.
Costello goes on to suggest that if you're looking for holiday ideas to consider "Ambassador of Jazz", the Louis Armstrong release. Funny, I do believe my associate here feels that before Armstrong there was nothing.. coincidence?
The Blog post titled "Steal This Record", indicates that Mr Costello is still a rebel at heart. What I wonder is how much control he has over his catalog if he can so adamantly oppose his own material?
That's a question for the industry dogs. What's more important? Look how FREAKING COOL Costello was in his day.. sorta makes me dizzy really.
