Sir Elton John is returning to Las Vegas for a three-year residency at Caesars Palace in a show titled "Million Dollar Piano".
Thank.
God.
Someone finally got through to the man that he, is in fact,………a lounge act.
See, we have all been bombarded by him lately culminating with that grand finale Saturday Night Live nightmare, he needs to stay in one place.
That way anyone who wants to see him can- no harm no foul. Las Vegas? Perfect.
Following the likes of Cher and Liberace the piano man can sit up there in rhinestone and glitter and play all his hits for the double knit leisure suit tour buses full of tourists.
I cannot think of a wiser move.
Stability for his new child right there on the Strip.
With a well staged, choreographed long running show in the same venue, Elton's minions can do damage control from command central. Tweak the sound, work the flattering light all in an effort to help Sir Elton maintain his dignity.
Or restore it after that hellrific SNL bit.
This news literally made my day. Finally a performers handler has realized that Vegas is THE place to go and 'Residency' is the answer to the inflated egos that squeeze out the rationale that a performer is past prime.
Best of Luck on your New Gig!
Buffet all day Bro!
