Echo Park Rising 2013 Announces Its Line-Up

Echo Park Rising, the festival born after the Sunset Junction Fair debacle, is back this year on August 17th and 18th, and the line-up has just been announced. Like last year, it is quite overwhelming with so many bands to see!

They have concentrated once again on local acts and there are no big national band participating, but that’s the point, it’s Echo Park rising not California or USA rising! Among the biggest acts, indie electronic-noise Big Black Delta, rock electronic Sir Sly, garage punk-rock The Soft Pack, indie rock Torches, noise-pop The Happy Hollows,  folk-rock The Lonely Wild, and Kan Wakan.

Also playing by alphabetic order, Avid Dancer, Beach Party, Big Search, Black Crystal Wolf Kids, Body Parts, Bootie LA DJs, Chicano Batman, Coastwest Unrest, Criminal Hygiene, Debt, Dorian Wood, Eagle Rock Gospel Singers, Eastern Conference Champions, El Sportivo and the Blooz, Fairbanks, Fort King, Free Moral Agents, Funky Sole DJs, Gap Dream, Haunted Summer, Herbert Bail Orchestra, Hindu Pirates, Holy Folk, Hot As Sun, James Supercave, Jungle Fire, Kera & the Lesbians, Killsonic, King Kukulele Kid’s show, Kitchen Hips, Line & Circle, Mexico68, Moses Sumney, Mt. Ossa, Mystic Rabbit, Northern American, Oh Boy Les Mecs, Old Toy Trains, Olin and the Moon, Only You, Part Time Punks DJs, Paul Bergmann and the Fair Moans, Quinto Sol, Rainbow Jackson, Salt Petal, Son Ark, Song Preservation Society, Storytime Funland, Spirit Vine, Strangers Family band, synthetic ID, Tall Tales and the Silver Lining, Terry Malts, The Abigails, the Graceland Exiles, the Record Company, the Reflections, the Wild Reeds, Tony Molina, Victory, Western Lows, Wet & Reckless, Young Hunting, Young Empires, Yoya.

Now you see what I mean by overwhelming! Like last year, the event will be spread out all over Echo Park, and stages will be organized in restaurants (like Taix), Coffee Shops (Fix Coffee), bars (The Short Stop), record stores (Origami Vinyl),… and I suppose there will also be an outdoor stage. And from what I understand, the event is still free, but a VIP  two-day pass (including viewing areas, skip the line, easy bar access + goodie grab bag) will only cost you $20-25. So let’s rise with Echo Park this year again!
