Country singer Eric Church was to play an outdoor gig in Buffalo New York. Radio Station WYRK … decided to halt their " WYRK Taste of Country" show when high winds threatened the safety of the structures at Coca Cola field.
Crazy isn't it? Stages collapsing everywhere people getting crushed by stuff but hell no don't you stop the show for our safety. The beef is that the crowd stood in pouring rain up until the 11pm shut down. Church was supposed to go on at 9:45 so that was insane to begin with. So what do you do if you're a cowboy and yer plum pissed off? Throw chairs and mud at the stage!
Witnesses described the scene as 'frightening'. I love that, "oh lawwwdy I wasa a- scared" But wait here is the best part and actually may sum up Mr Eric Church in one thought.
Lets see your fans are in pouring rain cuz you're running late then you cancel and you issue a statement saying you were “bummed” about the cancelation, but planned to return to Buffalo at a later date.
Id whip a chair at his head. 'Bummed"? How about an apology to the people who actually felt you were worth getting drenched for. They're more than bummed they should throw more than chairs but not at the stage- at the artist for his lack of empathy. He had his Stetson nice in dry in a green room. Shame on y'all.
