Don Giovanni is one of my three favorite record labels. Like the other two, I essentially buy stuff simply because it is on the label. Faves: Laura Stevenson, Shellshack, Screaming females, and Modern Hut whenever they get around to releasing it (and if they choose to release it on the label).
I remember reading in the Village Voice where Joe Steinhardt, driving home with them after a gig one night, said he would kill himself if they didn't let Don Giovanni records release their stuff. Hyperbole? I think not.
Wait, I forgot my beloved Hilly Eye when writing about their roster of artists. It is really amazing. I can't wait for February's DG Anivversary gig. Last years? The one with For Science reuniting? second best gig of 2012.
Anywway, consider this a non paid advertisiment for the great don Giovanni, a publishing of an email I got from their PR department.
