Death Cab For Cutie's 'Stay Young, Go Dancing' Reviewed

According to Wikipedia, the band name Deathcab for Cutie:
Lead singer Ben, "Gibbard took the band name from the title of the song written by Neil Innes and Vivian Stanshall and performed by their group, the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band, in The Beatles' 1967 film, Magical Mystery Tour
."

I offer you that information cuz I have often wondered about that name but never bothered to look it up.

Recently Deathcab appeared on Letterman performing the song "Stay Young, Go Dancing".  First up- Gibbard has shed the nerd glasses (perhaps giving them to Colin Melloy?) and got the River Phoenix/Lord Fauntelroy grunge hairdo.  Weird, as this look totally changes his image.  Time changes all- we can blame his wife Zooey Deschanel.

The song is brilliant.  The trademark vocals but with a fun and more upbeat, beat.  I cant help but love these guys and as much as they're the kings of the hipster parade, I cannot get enough of them.  This is such a fun song.  Granted its not Pitbull dance music but it certainly is a fun departure from some of the songs on their last lp "Narrow Stairs''.  I danced.  Good stuff! Bad hair.
