When last heard from David Bronson was in the studio recording the follow up to Story with help from musicians of the caliber of Carlos Alomar and singer Robin Clark (who worked with the great Luther Vandross and sang on Young Americans) on his third album (or is it fifth) and all winter whenever you asked him to a show you’d get the same reply: “Love to but I’m recording”.
But recording is over and David is hitting the road behind 2013’s Story and 2012’s The Long Lost and if last years gig at Brooklyn Bowl is anything to go by, this should be one not miss Tour. We get Bronson on March 24th at Rockwood and you better believe I’ll be there but he will be performing from the Mid-West to the Northeast and you better believe it is worth your while to catch the Cat Stevens being rolled by Robert Fripp singer songwriter
This looks like a solo tour to me and Bronson is that rarity who is quite at home by himself as with a band. With a band you get the heft of sound but solo you can hear the songs (and such great songs) and it is wonderful to hear how easily they break down to just acoustic guitar.
Hear are the dates.
