Dave Navarro just likes being naked. His first PETA ad was “Ink Not Mink” speaking out against the fur industries while sporting his sassy tatt’s. Now its "Animal Testing Kills: Choose Cruelty-Free." In which a nude Navarro appears to be bleeding from the eyes.
Let’s talk animal testing for cosmetics shall we? In the name of vanity animals have dyes and chemicals injected into their eyeballs to see if they’ll have a reaction. I don’t know about you but although I have stabbed myself with a mascara wand numerous time I have yet to puncture the surface.
Next. Animals skin is rubbed raw. Similar in effect, to using sandpaper to bring it down to an open wound but not gouged, chemicals are then brushed on to see if there is a reaction….
This isn’t done once or twice nor hundreds of times but DECADES worth. Same archaic tests still going on still showing the same results. Good to know.
This practice has been banned in Europe and Israel is ‘not required’ in the US and is as common as a hopscotch game in China.
Here’s what Dave says:
They're not taking a bunny rabbit and putting mascara on it. They're injecting a chemical directly into its eye to see what kind of adverse reaction happens to it", Navarro stressed in an on-set PETA US interview. "In many cases, parts of their body are ripped open. They're all alive, and they're all aware. It's torture for the animal ' it's terrifying and painful and probably one of the cruelest things done in the name of vanity."
Well said. Ignorance is absolute bliss when it comes to this industry. Trust me you don’t want to know and I wish I didn’t. When I was 15 years old I made it a mission to uncover this stuff and now damnit I can’t even eat cheese. Cuz I care- cuz I know.
Navarro may be a bit of a blow hard but I appreciate his efforts to educate. Those of you up his ass asking if his tattoo inks are vegan can simply shut up, it doesn’t matter. What matters is now you’re a bit more wise on what you’re smearing on your skin and will you now look for the ‘cruelty free’ emblem on your products?
Doubt it. Carry on
