Darryl DMC McDaniels At Knicks On Opening Christmas Day, 2011

When you're paying $267 for a tix to the New York Knicks long delayed opening day on Christmas day, you expect the team to deliver the goods. And the Knicks sure did, a humdinger 106 -104 win, lead by Melo's 37 point and whio cares Paul Pierce was in civies, you play the team who shows up.

I was trying to explain to a facebooker who loves every sport except basketball, and compared the sport to balley, hind movement yes, but foot and leg movement is where it is at. And all to the pulsating sound of classic soul and modern pop and hip hop hip hop hip hop. No surprise in the segue from Michael jackson to Black Eyed Peas, no doubt the reverberating bass is only background to the stamping fans.

Trey Lorenz -he sang the MJ cover "I'll Be There" with Mariah Carey, was perfect with the national anthem and Darryl "DMC" McDaniels rapped a Santa Claus number and then performed  "Walk This Way" with the Knicks City Dancers behind him and yes, really, two turn tables and actual real scratching.

Always a pleasure to see the Run DMC legend and icing on the cake for a terrifc win by a rejuvenated (hopefully) Knicks team.

Now if only Dolan would sell em.
