Dark Star Orchestra At Greenfield Amphitheatre, Wilimington, Tuesday, September 14th, 2010: Zoning by Woody Fuller

Before The Dark Star Orchestra show last night, I was getting ready with my friend Val, who admitted she “doesn’t know a single Grateful Dead song, but was in it for The Music.”
Like myself, she has also heard great things about the venue, Greenfield Amphitheater, I’m stoked, let’s do it.
Very sick venue. With ease, we all walk front row to Jam w the rest of the crunchy, 18-26 year olds. The original Dead Heads are somehow able to listen to DSO in a sitting position, I can not. I guess I haven’t spent enough hours groovin. So groove I must.
Many of those in attendance I have seen/ran into at various music festivals over the summer, Allgood, Bisco, ect.
I was starting to zone out for a few songs ( sue me, I’m ADD positive) but 70% of their jams had me IN the zone, and it was fun jamming out on a beautiful tuesday night. This was DSO’s 1846 show and it was great. The chic that was singing for them, barefoot and all, was having such a blast on stage.
They performed..
Set One: Stir It Up ; On The Road Again ; Here Comes Sunshine ; Next Time You See Me ; Big Iron > Jack-a-Roe ; Desolation Row ; Don’t Let Go ; Greatest Story Ever Told
Set Two: Iko Iko ; Feel Like A Stranger > Why Don’t We Do It In The Road > Uncle John’s Band > Alligator > Drums . Space > Alligator > Uncle John’s Band > China Doll > Not Fade Away
Encore: Cat’s Under The Stars.
Great show, their encore, Cat’s Under The Stars, was on point, everything clicked, great choice for end. But after almost 2,000 shows playing together, it better be.
