I’d already heard “Questions For Angels” and “Getting Ready For Christmas Day”
And they are both mammoth dogs.
It is hard to decide which is worse. No it isn’t. “Questions For Angels” makes me want to smack the twee asshole with his pathetic kids on Jay-Z’s knees verse, and unbearable chorus, it is as crappy a song as Simon has ever written. “Day” is garden variety loathsome.
Here is the clue: if it only gets 3 1/2 stars in Rolling Stone, it is the worse album of his career. I’m betting it gets 4, but 4 or 5? Hard to decide but maybe just moderately awful. I’d say check out Pitchfork but Grizzly Bear plays on one song so you can’t trust em either. I dunno, check out my review. I’ll set you straight.
