Last year, a coupla months before it dropped, we were raving about Michele Shaprow’s “Purple Skies”.
The other day we got this FB message:
“In it’s first week in Japan, “Purple Skies” became the #1 album on the Itunes Jazz charts and #7 in ALL GENRES!! “Back Down to Earth” is now #5 on Tokio Hot 100 (the radio chart for Japan’s top station J-Wave) and “Always Belong to You” has just entered the chart as well.”
Our congrats. Michelle’s deeply melodic smooth jazz deserves every award it gets.
