Coldplay played a concert at the UCLA Tennis Center on Wednesday, a show to benefit the Grammy Foundation and sponsored by two phone companies. I did not go, but I have just read that, beside the mix of sing-along hits and new songs from their upcoming album, Chris Martin did a cover of Amy Winehouse’s ‘Rehab’.
TMZ is reporting that a lot of stars were in the crowd, Lindsay Lohan (who went to rehab in UCLA, ha!) Channing Tatum, Kate Bosworth, Heidi Klum and Gwyneth Paltrow, but she does not really count as she is Mrs Coldplay.
You can check out the video below, it will not take you more than 50 seconds,… because Chris Martin did not actually sing the song, he just did the first lines ‘They tried to make me go to rehab, I said no, no, no….’ with the least amount of soul you can imagine (yeah that organ simply does not fit with the song) and then continues without interruption with one of his, ‘Fix You’.
I don’t know, if you want to really pay tribute to someone, learn the whole damn thing, then try to be a little more convincing!
