It has been something like, eeek, 50 years since I last saw Cliff Richard on stage and believe me, I'm ready.
Elvis was my earliest rock and roll hero but Cliff came a close second, plus? Cliff was English so in the middle of nowhere in Cheshire, England , in the very early 1960s, it was Cliff who was at least the less remote rock star.
So 5o years later, I met get the chance to see the great man again because here comes news that he is looking for a residency at a Vegas hotel.
Cliff told Woman's Weekly: "Olivia Newton-John and I have talked about joining forces to find a Las Vegas venue to perform at. Elton John said recently, 'I can't understand why you never cracked it'. And I can't either. It's the land of rock and roll – like Wimbledon is to tennis. Acts like Elvis and Little Richard were the reason I started so it would mean a great deal to have at least one success over there. I've had nine Top 30 hits in America but never an identity. If I could just have one big hit I'd feel so much satisfaction."
The rocker who has outlasted so many deserves it and I would seriously consider a trip to Vegas to check him out plus… Olivia Newton-John!!! Time to get physical.
