Chris Brown has really lost his touch hasn’t? Although, I never really believed that he wrote his own music so maybe he should go back to whoever wrote and produced his original hits. Not only does Chris’ voice alone just sound annoying in “Till I Die”, but his rapping is weak, his lyrics are trite, and he barely says anything in what is supposed to be his song.
Quite honestly, this is Big Sean’s song. Although Wiz Khalifa’s verse was better than Chris Brown’s, Big Sean’s rapping was the best I’ve heard in a long time. I had never really listened to Big Sean before I listened to this song but I may have to see what else this guy can do. With his verses, Sean made this song one that I can see my self drunk-rapping.
He delivers his lyrics like a pro and after listening to the song once, Big Sean had made me ant to learn all the lyrics so I could sing along. and, well, rap along. With these three rappers all on the same song, you can see the varying degrees of skill. Chris Brown’s verses fall flat, Wiz Khalifa’s verses are somewhere between boring and awesome, and then Big Sean’s just blow you away.
“Till I Die” is catchy and smoothly switches from party song to stoner song and then back. It’s really a shame that this song is on Chris’ latest album Fortune. I can only hope that he had some role in the editing and producing of this song because, if not, Chris needs to just hit the bench and make way for bigger talents.
